Resolving the error code 0xc0000005 on your side


You can either roll back your Outlook version as the crash can be seen only in its latest update, or you can run your Outlook in safe mode.

  • In CMD cd, enter this code: “\Program Files\Common Files\microsoft shared\ClickToRun”.

  • This action will bring you to the ClicktoRun folder.

  • Then enter officec2rclient.exe /update user updatetoversion=16.0.12827.20470.


These steps will roll back your Microsoft Outlook version. Now This is how you can use Outlook in safe mode:


  • Launch Microsoft Outlook by holding the Ctrl key.

  • After just a few seconds, a popup will appear on your screen asking you- “Do you want to start Outlook in Safe Mode?”

  • Press the Yes button.
